Avista files annual price adjustment filings in Idaho
SPOKANE, Wash. — Avista has submitted their annual rate adjustment fillings with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission which will decrease overall electric prices if approved.
The power cost adjustment, which affects Avista’s cost of generating and purchasing electric power, will rebate customers $9.8 million on October 1. Power supply costs were lower than retail rates because of lower wholesale electric and natural gas prices.
The other being Bonneville power administration’s residential exchange program. This provides a share of the Columbia River power system to specific customers like Avista.
If both of the filings are approved, Idaho customers using an average of 910 kilowatt hours per month would see their bills drop from $88.49 to $87.79 or about 0.8 percent.
Additionally, Avista filled its fixed cost adjustment filling which is also scheduled to go into effect on October 1. If all three fillings are approved customers in Idaho using 910 kilowatt hours per month will see their monthly bills decrease from $88.49 to $83.64 or by about 5.5 percent.
