Authorities: Kuna district bus driver did not slap student

Authorities say a bus driver did not slap a student after a fight broke out among three elementary students.

The Idaho Statesman reports that the Kuna School District bus driver was placed on unpaid leave on Thursday. The driver, whose name has not been released, was accused of slapping a student after a fight broke out on a bus.

According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation determined that the driver’s intervention was only verbal. A spokesman for the school district said officials were still deciding whether to take the driver off leave as of Friday.

Deputies interviewed eight students who were on the bus, the bus driver and the dean of students.

The names of the students involved in the fight have not been released.
