Arlouine Ione Gregory

Arlouine Ione Gregory, longtime resident of Priest River, passed away on December 1, 2019, at the age of 84.
Arlouine was raised primarily on Priest Lake. As a young girl, she attended school on Idaho Hill and in Priest River. She was a hard worker growing up, helping her family with household chores, babysitting, and cooking. She wed her sweetheart, Gary Gregory, on November 30, 1951, and followed him to Long Beach, California where he was stationed in the Navy. The couple later returned to Priest River and started their family. Arlouine was a dedicated homemaker and raised her four children with grace, humor, and homemade bread. Once her children were raised, she began working outside the home and was dedicated to her work at Keytronic and Just Because boutique in Newport. She was an enthusiastic grandmother and shared her love of history, Priest Lake, Christmas, and many types of crafting with her grandchildren.
Arlouine was devoted to her faith, family, friends and community. As a longtime member of the Priest River Free Methodist church, she led youth group throughout the 1970s, later serving on the church board, and always ensuring that there was fresh, hot coffee and baked goods for the fellowship time after Sunday service. She loved spending time in nature, especially at Priest Lake, and was an eager student of local history. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed painting as well as crafting – her hands were never idle! She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, and baking, as well as cleaning, organizing, and gardening.
She will be sadly missed by her children Mike Gregory of Spokane, Steve (Nancy) Gregory of Priest River, Jacqueline Gregory of Hoquiam, WA, and Julie (Jim) Wilson of Mattawa, WA. Grandchildren Sarah Gregory, Michael Shelly, Erinn (Johnny) Boitano, Heather Gregory, Terrie (Daniel) Terry, Geoffrey (Sheena) Gregory, Eddie Counts, and Paul Pendergraft will miss her dearly. Her great-grandchildren are John-Tracy, Elise, and Thomas Boitano of Thorpe, WA; Hudson and Daisy Terry, Ellensburg; James Gregory-McPhee and Olivia Gregory, Colville; and Addison, Whitley, and Johnathan Gregory of Newport. Arlouine is also survived by one brother-in-law, Marvin Reynolds of Spokane as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Gregory, her parents Louis and Betsy Pearsall, her sister Yvonne Reynolds, her brother Robert and his wife Shirley Pearsall, nieces Erlene Wachsmith and Betty Pearsall, an infant nephew Tommy Reynolds as well as two infant grandchildren, Bethany Hope Gregory and Anthony Roy Gregory.
