Even though it’s not set to open until the middle of next year, jobs at the new Amazon fulfillment center on the West Plains are starting to appear online.

On Amazon’s website, you can find two postings for jobs at the 2.6 million square foot facility. One is an Operations Manager, the other is an IT Manager.

The first posting says operations managers are “creative problem solvers who are able to dream in immense scale, interpret big data, and deliver meaningful results that keenly drive productivity and efficiency.” Applicants for that role need to have a bachelor’s degree or five years of Amazon experience. Preferred qualifications include a degree in engineering, operations or a related field.

The second position is an IT manager, who will “hire, train and develop a team of IT professionals.” It includes planning, organizing, scheduling and supervising the day-to-day technical support activities at the facility. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or technical discipline. The candidate also needs to have the “ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced IT environment.”

When completed, Amazon says the West Plains facility will employ 1,500 people.
