After ESPN leak, Gonzaga Women get 5 seed, headed to Corvallis

Due to a leak at ESPN, the NCAA Women’s tournament field was available sooner than expected. The 28-4 Gonzaga Bulldogs received a five seed and are headed to Corvallis to take on 12 seed Little Rock.

ESPN addressed the leak with a tweet from their PR department:

The Zags will play Saturday with the winner taking on the winner of host and fourth seed Oregon State, and 13 seed Boise State.

The Bulldogs had one of the best seasons in program history but they will be shorthanded in the NCAA tournament as today Gonzaga announced that Laura Stockton and Jill Townsend will both be out due to injuries.

The duo suffered serious leg injuries in their WCC semi-final win over St. Mary’s.
