Accidental alarm triggers lockdown at Hayden Meadows Elementary, no threat found

KOOTENAI CO., Idaho — An alarm was set off accidentally and caused Hayden Meadows Elementary to be temporarily placed in lockdown on Friday.
Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Coeur d’Alene Police officers and Idaho State Police all responded to the school to investigate the cause of the alarm.
The School Resource Officer also received a report of the lockdown via email.
Authorities checked inside and outside the building, but no threats to the school nor staff were discovered.
Law enforcement learned the alarm was set off inadvertently and was unknown by the staff.
Once authorities determined there were no threats, the lockdown was lifted and normal operations continued.
