A-Rod’s Wife Alleges Infidelity
MIAMI — The wife of New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is accusing him of infidelity, emotional abandonment and “marital misconduct.”
Cynthia Rodriguez formally filed divorce papers in a Miami court Monday.
She also accuses the All-Star of “emotionally” abandoning their children.
Today’s filing in Miami-Dade Family Court comes days after media reports linking the Yankees third baseman to singer Madonna.
Alex Rodriguez has refused to comment on his relationship with Madonna. The pop star is denying any romantic involvement with him. Today’s filing does not mention Madonna or any other alleged paramours by name.
Cynthia Rodriguez is seeking child support, alimony and primary custody of the couple’s two children, ages 3 years old and two months old. The couple has been married since November 2002.
The filing comes the day after Rodriguez hit his 536th homer, tying Yankees Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle for 13th on baseball’s all-time list.
