5 Miles Of New Pavement For U.S. 95 Through CDA

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Idaho Transportation Department announced that five miles of U.S.95 through Coeur d’Alene will receive a new pavement surface. This will start on Sunday, April 12 and is a $4.5 million project.  

Crews will work Sunday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.  There is a chance the Hwy could be down to one lane of traffic during these hours.  There will also be intersection upgrades and work done on sidewalks, including curb and gutter work .   

Intersection may be closed in some areas during work hours.  Detours will be in place during that time.  Intersections will be reopened each day once crews are done for motorist.   The top layer of the old roadway surface will be removed and replaced with a new wider asphalt surface.  All improvements to sidewalks and curb gutters will be compatible with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.   The contractor is POE Asphalt Paving Inc. of Coeur d’Alene and the project is expected to be cdone by the end of September.
