The general election is on November 8, but the deadline to register online or by mail is October 31.

In Washington, you can register to vote in person up until 8 p.m. on Election Day (November 8). If you choose to do this, you will need to visit your County Elections Office. You can register at your elections office any day leading up to the election.

If you don’t have a Washington driver’s license or ID, you can still register to vote. You’ll have to go to the Elections Office or mail in a registration form.

“You’ll need to provide the last four digits of your social security number and of course, all the basic registration information such as address, gender, birthdate and we do verify that information,” said Vicky Dalton, Spokane County Auditor.

Dalton said the information is verified through the Social Security database.
