Kootenai County Measures

City of Hayden Law Enforcement Budget Increase

The city of Hayden does not have its own police department and contracts with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office for additional law enforcement coverage. The city currently contracts for four deputies and is looking to fund an additional six deputies to be assigned to Hayden because of a demand for coverage.

Based on current property tax conditions, an approved base budget increase will increase property taxes by $16.22 per $100,000 of taxable value. For a property with a taxable value of $500,000, property taxes would be increased by $81.10 annually or $6.76 per month.
