Over the last year, 4 News Now has worked to expand the conversation about addiction and mental health issues, as well as the access to resources and tools people are using to find a light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve talked with real people facing problems and our main goal is to help members of our community come up with solutions in the moments so many face.

To this end, we have teamed up with 6 On Your Side in Boise, as well as Local News 8 in Idaho Falls to produce a half-hour special called “Finding Hope: Idaho’s Mental Health Challenge” presented by Optum.

The special airs Friday on 4 News Now at 7 p.m.

Please join us as we identify warning signs to look for in your workplace, in your home or in your child’s school. It all starts with identifying the problem – then we can all join in finding the solutions.

Over the past year, the newsrooms of KXLY, KIVI, KSAW and KIFI have covered stories of addiction, mental health, and hope in the state of Idaho. The statewide effort is meant to shine a light on the resources available and stories of inspiration to lead the conversation and make Idaho a better place.
